You can't say Geek...

...without pointing at me and yelling "It's her! Over there! The girl with the glasses and a ponytail*!"

Yes folks, while doing my tourist shlack round sydney I went in to the State Library of NSW!!!

It's fabulous! Utterly huge and with just millions of books (well, duh! It's a Library!). It had one of those really old fashion reference sections as well! Where you have to look up the author/ book title on a little card in a filing draw and it tells you where to go get your book from! And there was an upstairs bit with a wooden balcony and those ladders tha swish around on a rail!

I'm gushing over a Library aren't I?

See what I mean about the Geek thing?

There was a normal Library bit to with all the horrors/ sci fi/ romance/ adventure etc that the normal libraies have.

In my defence I did get told off for being to loud and had my bag searched to ensure I wasn't stealing really old boring books from the reference bit. Both times by the same scary security bloke on the front desk.

Also got lost in the Botanical Gardens. They are absolutely gorgeous!!! There is a really ancient looking tree (with hanging down bits, looked very much like it should be in a magazine fashion shoot) which I wanted to take a picture of but there were some scary looking goth types sitting at the base so I changed my mind abruptly and wandered off in the other direction.

I will have some pics when I finally get round to linking my camera to stuff again. Probably wont be until I am home now...

Museum or Bondi beach tonight, haven't decided which yet. Depends on the weather.

*I don't always have a ponytail, depends on how my hair is behaving, but I do always have glasses as I am blind...

Hmmmm, feel I should point out that you didn't need to sign up for a blog, you could have just selected "Other" when choosing an identity and then typing "Gav" in to the name box that comes up...

Good to hear from you though, always nice to be remembered by an international rock star...
